*** Sokolowski wins at stardust ***

Tony Sokolowski won his third ABT Classic title by defeating Maurice Schmidt 190-183 at Stardust Bowl.

In match one of the finals, Maurice Schmidt defeated Jost Wastag 220-136. In match two, Schmidt defeated James Reed 172-155. In match three, Schmidt eliminated Scott O'Neill 206-157 to earn his shot at top seed Tony Sokolowski. Maurice had an 18-pin handicap advantage to start the title match but opens in four of the first five frames allowed Tony Sokolowski to erase that edge and take a 13-pin lead after five frames. Maurice righted himself in the second half of the match but Tony was able to answer every challenge as he went on to win by the final score of 190-183.

Champion's Profile: Tony Sokolowski is years old and employed as a comptroller. He is married to Linda and they have two children, Jenni and Dan, ages 19 and 17. Tony has been bowling for 35 years and bowls leagues at Stardust and Mont Claire Bowl. He has a high game of 279 and a 767 high series to his credit. Tony was using a Track Stomp drilled by Paul Marcinek at Specialized Pro Shop in Roselle. He credits his dad Anthony Sr. and John Scaletta as having helped him with his game. Tony thanked the ABT staff and Stardust Bowl for having the event. He said his winnings would be shared with his children and used for future events. Tony also complimented the ABT volunteers, saying without them there would be no ABT. Truer words have never been spoken.

congratulations Tony!
