*** sevcik wins at habetler ***

Rob Sevcik won his first ABT Classic title by defeating Tom Arendarczyk 234-219 at Habetler Bowl.

Arif Afandi opened the stepladder finals by defeating William Rios 199-180. James Mincey then eliminated Afandi 194-176 before falling to Tom Arendarczyk 213-178. Rob Sevcik had a 21-pin handicap advantage to start the title match but Arendarczyk doubled in frames two and three to cut the lead down to nine pins. The match stayed close for six frames but Arendarczyk missed spare opportunities in the seventh and eighth frames allowing Sevcik to rebuild his lead. Arendarczyk closed with a four-bagger but it was too little, too late as Sevcik hung on for the 234-219 victory.

Champion's Profile: Robert Sevcik is 21 years old and employed as a groundskeeper. He has been bowling for three years and currently bowls at Habetler Bowl. Rob has a high game of 263 and a 660 high series to his credit. He was using an Ebonite Vortex drilled at Star Pro Shop in Addison. Rob credits Matt Frew, Ray Sevcik, Billy Habetler, and Al Borowski as having helped him with his game. He thanked the staff at Habetler, Ray and Betty Sevcik, and Matt Frew for all their support. Rob said his winnings would be used for more equipment and bills. He also said that the ABT runs a really good tournament.

congratulations rob!

Tournament Notes: Congratulations to Brian Sechrist who rolled a nice 267+29=296 game to break a 295 Pot for $500. Nice bowling Brian!
