*** sevcik wins at habetler ***
|
Rob Sevcik won his first ABT Classic title
by defeating Tom Arendarczyk 234-219 at Habetler Bowl.
Arif Afandi opened the stepladder finals by
defeating William Rios 199-180. James Mincey then eliminated Afandi
194-176 before falling to Tom Arendarczyk 213-178. Rob Sevcik had a 21-pin
handicap advantage to start the title match but Arendarczyk doubled in
frames two and three to cut the lead down to nine pins. The match stayed
close for six frames but Arendarczyk missed spare opportunities in the
seventh and eighth frames allowing Sevcik to rebuild his lead. Arendarczyk
closed with a four-bagger but it was too little, too late as Sevcik hung
on for the 234-219 victory.
