*** Crowe climbs the ladder at Lakewood ***

Kermit Crowe worked his way past four opponents at Lakewood Bowl to claim his second ABT Masters title. Kermit started his run by defeating John Wilson 220-212. Next up was Mark Szmergalski who fell 206-193. In match three Kermit eliminated Doug Glassman 242-204 to earn his shot at top seed Pat Cornell. In the title match Pat Cornell pounded the pocket consistently but left six 7-pins, one of which he missed, and Kermit was able to do just enough to come away with the 208-183 victory.

Champion's Profile: Kermit Crowe is 43 years old and employed as a financial services rep for Primerica. He is married to Kimberly and they have two children, Cameron and Kristen, ages two and five. Kermit has been bowling for 15 years and currently bowls leagues at Castaway and Bluebird Lanes. He has a high game of 279 and a 740 high series to his credit. Kermit was using a Columbia Rock On drilled by Lee at Andy's Pro Shop. He credits Leroy Johnson and Mike Strickland as having helped him with his game. Kermit thanked the Lord for giving him the ability to bowl, his family and friends for their support, and the ABT and Lakewood for having the tournament. Kermit said his winnings would be used to pay some bills.

congratulations Kermit!

Tournament Notes: Congratulations to Mark Szmergalski who broke the 295 Pot for $500. Nice bowling Mark!
