Jan Flynn won her first ABT Classic title by
defeating Kevin Kinder 236-179 at Mundelein Lanes. Jan survived three
elimination rounds with handicap scores of 433, 473, and 467 to advance to
the championship match. Kevin advanced with two game scores of 422, 483,
and 475. Kevin had a 17-pin handicap advantage to start the title match
but left rails in two of the first five frames allowing Jan to wipe out
the advantage and take a 29-pin lead at the halfway mark. Jan turkeyed in
frames 6-8 to put the match away going on to win by the final score of
236-179.
Champion's Profile: Jan Flynn is 43 years old and employed as a
corporate customer service manager for BMC. She is married to Ken and has
a 12-year-old son named Brandon. Jan has been bowling for 30 years and
bowls leagues at Fox Bowl and Arlington Lanes. Her high game is 299 and
she has a 702 high series to her credit. Jan was using a Track Phenom
Unleashed drilled by Lynn Corey at Star Pro Shop in Addison. She credits
her husband Ken, Lynn Corey, Davey Rosen, and many others as having helped
her to improve her game. Jan thanked her husband Ken and her son Brandon
for believing in her. She also thanked the ABT staff and Mundelein Lanes
for a great event. Her winnings will be used for the ABT Vegas Nationals
this spring. Jan closed her interview by saying: "I am not a bridesmaid
anymore."

break the 295 Pot worth $500.
