Jim Aller won his first ABT Classic title by defeating Kurt Strebel 248-246 at AMF Rolling Meadows. In match one of the stepladder finals, Joe Johnson 258 defeated Amanda Culp 226 and Leo Portades 223. In match two Kristie Clark 208 defeated Joe Johnson 200 and Brad Scheftel 179. In match three Jim Aller defeated Kristie Clark 205-193 to advance to the championship match against top seed Kurt Strebel. In the title match Jim built a 41-pin lead after seven frames and it looked like the match was over at that point. Kurt refused to give up and finished with a five-bagger, forcing Jim to mark in the 10th, which he did to hang on for the 248-246 victory. Champion's Profile: Jim Aller is 38 years old and single. He is employed as a manager for UPS and has been bowling for four years. Jim currently bowls league at Wood Dale Bowl and has a high game of 256 and a 757 high series to his credit. Jim said that Pete Tagalos has helped him with his game. He thanked Pete Tagalos for his help and support along with the ABT and AMF Rolling Meadows for having the tournament.
