*** Mueller wins first title ***
|
Dean Mueller won his first ABT Masters title
by defeating Hank Duncan 208-188 at AMF Rolling Meadows.
In match one of the stepladder finals Steve
Morrissey 239 defeated John Sypniewski 225 and John Garrette 222. In match
two Davey Rosen 228 defeated Gary Burian 216 and Steve Morrissey 193. In
match three Dean Mueller defeated Davey Rosen 252-193 to advance to the
title match against top seed Hank Duncan. The lead changed hands several
times in the championship match but a split for Duncan in frame eight
allowed Mueller to take the lead for good as he went on to win by the
final score of 208-188.
Champion's Profile: Dean Mueller is 39 years old and employed as a
receiving manager for Barnes and Noble. He is married to Anna and they
have three children: Tony, Krischel, and Robert. Dean has been bowling for
32 years and currently bowls leagues at Hawthorn Lanes and McHenry Rec.
His high game is 300 and he has an 804 high series to his credit. Dean was
using a Storm Eraser drilled by Brian Chilcutt at the Striking Difference
Pro Shop inside Hawthorn Lanes. Dean credits Michael Jacobs, Mitch Sacks,
and Tony Cariello as having helped him with his game. He thanked his wife
for allowing him to bowl, Brian Chilcutt, Bill Spigner, and Michael Jacobs
for serving as his sounding board when he needs one, and Roger Partynski
for bringing him back to bowl on Sunday. Dean's winnings will be used for
bills and the ABC Nationals in Reno.
congratulations Dean!
Tournament Notes:
