*** gwaltney captures second title ***

Ron Gwaltney won his second ABT Masters title by defeating Tony Caraker 252-247 in our January Thaw event at Espo's.

Ron qualified fifth for the top twelve finals and advanced by defeating Rob Tyda 249-223, Dean Mueller 250-248, and Jerome Woodfork 251-229. Tony Caraker qualified 10th and earned his berth in the championship match by defeating Stephen Hiatt 213-163, Scott Radtke 234-193, and Tony Kaskadden 292-226. The title match was close as Tony held a slim lead through the first seven frames. A six-bagger by Ron in frames five through ten enabled him to finally overtake Tony in the eighth frame and he held on from there for the final 252-247 victory.
