Bobby Bass won his sixth ABT Masters title
by defeating Larry Lynd 235-180 at Brunswick Zone Thunderbird.
In match one of the stepladder finals,
Anthony Calarco defeated Pat Cornell 244-216. In match two Chad Billy
defeated Anthony Calarco 200-189. In match three Larry Lynd defeated Chad
Billy 255-204. In the title match Bobby Bass stayed clean for the first
eight frames to build a 23-pin lead. Larry Lynd then left a rail in the
9th to seal the deal as Bobby went on to win by the score of 235-180.
Champion's Profile: Bobby Bass is 51 years old and employed as a
regional manager for Westwood College. He is engaged to Jeri and has four
grown children: Tom, Bri, Joey, and Aaron. Bobby started bowling some 40
years ago and currently bowls league at Poplar Creek Bowl. His high game
is 300 and he has a high series of 816 to his credit. Bobby was rolling a
Track ball drilled by Lynn Corey at Star Pro Shop in Addison. He said that
he couldn't have won this week without Tony Caraker's help. Bobby thanked
his fiancée Jeri for putting up with him, his friends Rick Hara, Matt
Barker, Tony and Gary Caraker for their support during the finals, and the
ABT staff for all of their efforts. Bobby said his winnings would go
towards his son's college education.
