*** Nolte wins at Sunset ***
|
Rich Nolte won his third ABT title by
defeating Michael Shugrue 240-176 at Sunset Bowl.
In match one of the top-seven finals, Melvin
Mosley Jr. 181 defeated Whip Ibanez 174 and Verdell Love Jr. 172. In match
two Mel Mosley Jr. defeated John Emmerich 211 and Eric Seebacher 210. In
match three Rich Nolte defeated Mel Mosley Jr. 236-135 to advance to the
title match against top seed Michael Shugrue. Michael doubled to start the
championship match but Rich answered with a turkey in frames 2-4 to open
up a 38-pin lead. Rails for Michael in the 5th and 8th frames allowed Rich
to stretch his lead and he put the match away with another turkey in
frames 8-10 to go on to the final 240-176 victory.
