*** Hara Wins at Wheaton ***
|
Rick Hara defeated four opponents at Wheaton
Bowl to claim his ninth ABT title. Rick started his climb to the
championship match by defeating Mike Martenson Sr. 224-198. Next up was
Michael Stewart who fell by the score of 239-219. In match three Rick
bested Stacey Timmer 211-195 to advance to the title match against top
seed Leroy Walker. The first half of the championship match was close with
Rick leading by just four pins after six frames. The second half of the
game belonged to Rick as he strung a five-bagger and Leroy couldn't keep
pace as Rick pulled away to the 236-190 victory.
