Jason Wojnar won his second ABT title by defeating Rich Arens 217-210 at Brunswick Zone Mt. Prospect.

Jason qualified ninth for the top 12 finals then advanced by defeating Chad Kloss 214-171, Lori Maikowski 217-195, and Hank Duncan. Rich qualified seventh and advanced by defeating Robert Finder 255-205, Jim Kedroski 41.2-39 after tying at 186, and Al Brown 197-190. The championship match was close start to finish and it all came down to the final frame. Leading by just three pins Jason finished up first and counted nine, spare, nine in the tenth frame to leave the door open for Rich. Needing a double to win Rich struck on his first shot but went high with the next to leave Jason as the winner by the final score of 217-210.

Champion's Profile: Jason Wojnar is 24 years old and owns and operates Little Bear's Pro Shop inside Burr Oak Bowl. He has been bowling since juniors and currently bowls league at Burr Oak Bowl. His high game is 300 and he has a high series of 815 to his credit. Jason was using a Brunswick Inferno that he drilled himself. He credits Rich Kanadet, Tom Carter, and his dad as having helped him to improve his game. Jason thanked the ABT staff and Brunswick Zone for having the event, Terysa Miller for her support, Ron Bragg for the Brunswick equipment, and his family for all their support. Jason said his winnings would be used for more ABT events and World Team Challenges.

Tournament Notes: Congratulations to Ed Smaglik on a 300+1=301 game to break a 295 pot for $500. Nice bowling Ed! Congratulations also to Linda Carter who rolled the high series on Friday night to win a 4-ball bag from Storm Bowling Products.
