Mike Meifert won his third ABT Chicagoland title by surviving a full game roll-off against Curt Aemisegger at Brunswick Zone Lakehurst. Harvey Lee opened the stepladder finals by defeating Ron Kuchenbecker 231-223. In match two Harvey defeated Kimberly Adams 225-212. In match three Curt Aemisegger struck out in the tenth to nip Harvey Lee 242-238. In the championship against top seed Mike Meifert, Curt had a chance to win in regulation if he could have struck out in the tenth again. A stubborn 10-pin refused to fall on the final shot resulting in a 216 tie forcing a full game roll-off. The rematch entered the tenth frame with Curt leading by just two pins but this time it was Mike Meifert who struck out to win by the final score of 209-201. Champion's Profile: Mike Meifert is 32 years old and employed as a sales rep for G&K Services. He has been bowling since age seven and bowls leagues at Riviera Lanes and AMF Menomonee Falls. His high game is 300 and he has an 838 high series to his credit. Mike was using a Storm Triple X Factor drilled by John Megna. He credits Tom Mucha as having helped him to work on his game. Mike thanked his wife Corinne for all her support along with the ABT and Lakehurst for doing a great job in running the tournament. congratulations Mike!
