*** Arens Earns First Title ***
|
Rich Arens climbed the ladder at Stardust
Bowl to win his first ABT title. Rich started his climb in the stepladder
finals by defeating Maurice Mitchell 203-164. Next up was Robert Finder
who went down by the count of 209-190. Hank Duncan was Rich's next victim
falling by the score of 264-186. In the title match top seed Matt Sanchez
missed spare opportunities in the third and fourth frames allowing Rich to
race to a 38-pin lead after four frames. Matt doubled in the fifth and
sixth to close to within 16 pins but that was as close as he could get as
Rich stayed clean for the second half of the match and went on to win by
the final score of 226-198.
