***  Matasek Wins at Mt. Prospect ***

Dan Matasek won his second ABT title with both wins coming at Brunswick Zone Mt. Prospect.

Dave Palojarvi Jr. opened the stepladder finals by defeating Roger Partynski 253-231. In match two Dave defeated Harvey Lee 218-185. In match three Dan Matasek defeated Dave Palojarvi Jr. 236-227 to earn his shot at top seed Dan Glowacki. In the title match Dan Glowacki just couldn’t line up on the championship pair while Dan Matasek struck in 4 of the first 5 frames to build a 56-pin lead. Glowacki cut into the lead in the second half of the match but couldn’t catch up as Matasek went on to win by the final score of 204-170.

Champion’s Profile: Dan Matasek is 38 years old and employed as a database manager for Brunswick Corp. He is married to Chris and they have 2 children, Jessica and Luke. Dan has been bowling for 28 years and bowls league at Hawthorn Lanes. His high game is 300 and he has an 819 high series to his credit. Dan was using a Brunswick HPD drilled by Don Scudder at Fehr Calhoun Pro Shop. He credits Kelly Koeller, Rob Severance, Stuart Goldman, and Pam Cipolla as having helped him to improve his game. Dan thanked God, his wife for her support, the spectators who cheered him on in the finals and the ABT and Brunswick Zone for having the tournament. Dan said his winnings would go towards his kids’ college fund. He also said that he would like to see more Masters come out to bowl. My sentiments exactly, Dan!
