***  Heroff wins Back to Back titles ***

Andy Heroff made it two in a row by defeating Dionne Schmitz 193-179 at Lakeside Lanes.

Andy qualified third for the match play finals and advanced by defeating John Ronkowski 225-203 and Harry Carson 224-175. Dionne qualified second and she advanced with victories over Rudy Castro 214-178 and Ryan Finley 198-193. Dionne had a 34-pin handicap advantage to start the title match but Andy doubled in the first 2 frames to cut the lead down to 12. The match stayed close for the next few frames but Dionne opened in the 6th and 7th frames while Andy threw a strike and a spare to take his first lead in the match. Andy then doubled in the 8th and 9th to put the match away.

Champion’s Profile: Andy Heroff is 27 years old and employed as a software architect for Motorola. He has been bowling for 15 years and bowls leagues at Brunswick Zone Deer Park and Palatine. Andy has a high game of 266 and a 697 high series to his credit. He was using a Brunswick Monster drilled by Mark London at Deer Park. Andy was in disbelief that he had won two weeks in a row and well he should be as he is only the third bowler in our 13-year history to accomplish the feat.

congratulations Andy!
