Tom Mucha won his second Chicagoland ABT
title by defeating Chad Kloss 224-177 at Lakeside Lanes in Mundelein. Tom
qualified 4th for the match play finals then advanced by defeating Mike
Maguire 199-166 and Paul Bober 189-187. Chad qualified 6th and advanced by
defeating Don Czyznik 232-218 and Steve Lewis 260-223. In the title match
Chad just couldn’t line up on the right hand lane and Tom used turkeys in
frames 1-3 and 5-7 to cruise to the 224-177 final score.
Champion’s Profile: Tom Mucha is 44
years old and is self-employed as a painter. He is married to Kim and they
have 2 children, Jennifer and T.J. Tom has been bowling for 30 years and
bowls leagues at AMF Menomonee Falls and Riviera Lanes. His high game is
300 and he has an 841 high series to his credit. Tom was using a Track
Rule drilled by Craig Mueller at Pro World in Menomonee Falls. Tom credits
Chad Kloss, Mike Meifert, and Craig Mueller as having helped him to
develop his game. He thanked the ABT for running the tournament and
Lakeside Lanes for hosting it. Tom said his winnings would be used to pay
bills.
