***  Brancecum Wins First ***

Michael Brancecum won his first ABT title by defeating Sean Small 249-207 at BAMM. Michael qualified 3rd for the top 8 finals and advanced by defeating Chris Dubis 237-171 and David Palojarvi Sr. 237-220. Sean qualified 5th and he advanced with victories over Pete Tagalos 246-213 and Al Legan 240-191. In the title match Michael struck in 6 of the first 7 frames to open a 55-pin lead. Sean closed with 4 out of 5 strikes but it was too little, too late, as Michael rolled to the 249-207 final score.

Champion’s Profile: Michael Brancecum is 36 years old and employed as a truck driver for LRM Materials. He is married to Valerie and has 3 children, Lauren, Cortney, and Michael Jr. Michael has been bowling for 20 years and currently bowls league at BAMM. He has a high game of 289 and a 670 high series to his credit. Michael was using a Storm Hot Wire drilled by Joe Bacagaluppi at Back to Basics Pro Shop inside BAMM. Michael said his dad helped him to develop his game and he thanked his dad for talking him into joining the ABT. His winnings will be used for car modifications and a vacation.

BTD Match: In the Beat the Director match Herman Roebke defeated ABT director Ed Mousseau 194-181 to win $135. Frank Edwards won the $25. Spectator Bonus Award. The carryover for the next BTD stands at $110. Next BTD 11/28/04 at AMF Rolling Meadows.
