Anthony Calarco won his 6th ABT title by
defeating John Scaletta 269-238 in our 13th Anniversary event at BAMM.
Anthony qualified 4th for the top 8 finals and advanced by defeating
Walter Yandell 257-223 and Chad Kloss 260-214. John qualified 8th and
earned his berth in the title match by eliminating Steve Koszola 268-233
and Jim Wagenaar 268-203. In the title match both bowlers hit the pocket
with every shot but Anthony was able to carry 10 strikes to John’s 7 to
account for the final 269-238 score.
Champion’s Profile: Anthony Calarco
is 61 years old and semi-retired. He has two grown children Frank and
John. Anthony has been bowling for 27 years and currently bowls at AMF
Rolling Meadows. His high game is 300 and he has a 767 high series to his
credit. Anthony was using a Storm Tour Power drilled by Mike Dugan at
Brunswick Zone River Grove. He thanked the Lord for his health, his family
and his friend Janice for all their support, and the ABT staff for a
professionally run amateur tournament. Anthony said his winnings would be
used for more tournaments.

Tournament Notes: Congratulations to Tim Wilson who won $500 by
breaking a 295 Pot. Nice Bowling Tim! Congratulations also to Steve
Koszola on a 299 game and an 812 series in the semis. Great bowling Steve!
BTD Match: In the Beat the Director match Herman Roebke defeated
ABT director Ed Mousseau 194-181 to win $135. Frank Edwards won the $25.
Spectator Bonus Award. The carryover for the next BTD stands at $110. Next
BTD 11/28/04 at AMF Rolling Meadows.
