Becky Rakowski went from fifth to first at Arlington Lanes to claim her fourth ABT title. Becky started her climb by defeating Joe Gorro 195-181. In match 2 Becky squeaked by Reid Flammang 180-177. In match 3 Becky eliminated Rich Manno 230-180 to move into the championship match against top seed Darryl Purdy. Becky had the handicap advantage in the title match but didn’t need it as she rolled a clean game to win by the final score of 230-188.

Champion’s Profile: Becky Rakowski is 50 years old and employed as a bookkeeper for J.S.L. Properties. She is married to Jeff and has 3 grown children, Dave, Sandy, and Tom. Becky has been bowling for 32 years and bowls league at Arlington Lanes. She has a high game of 241 and a 610 high series to her credit. Becky was rolling an Ultimate Inferno drilled by G.W. Gregg. She credits her son Dave and her husband Jeff as having helped her to improve her game. Becky thanked God for giving her the energy to bowl 11 games on Sunday especially after being sick on Saturday. She also thanked her family for their support and Arlington Lanes for hosting the tournament. Becky said her winnings would be used for Christmas presents and some home remodeling. She closed her interview by saying, "never give up”.
