Matt Gibson won his first ABT title in a
“power failure” shortened event at Brunswick Zone Woodridge. Just as the
finals were about to begin the power went out. After a two hour wait the
finals portion of the event was canceled and Matt was declared the winner
since he was the number one seed.
Champion’s Profile: Matt Gibson is 19
years old and employed as a mechanic at Stardust III Lanes in Dyer
Indiana. Matt has been bowling for 3 years and currently bowls league at
Stardust III. He has a high game of 279 and a 739 high series to his
credit. Matt was using a Track Black Magic drilled by Mark Koifoid at
Stardust III. He credits Brandon Mens as having helped him to improve his
game. Matt thanked everyone from Stardust III for their help and support
along with the ABT and Brunswick Zone Woodridge for having the tournament.
Matt said his winnings would be used to pay off his truck.
