Dennis Kenny won his fourth ABT title by defeating Stephen Hiatt 216-211 at Bertrand Lanes. John Lee opened the stepladder finals by defeating Michael Zadler 227-209. John Lee then eliminated Michael Stewart 227-197 before falling to Stephen Hiatt 237-205. In the title match Kenny doubled in the 2nd and 3rd frames to take a 23-pin lead. Hiatt doubled in frames 4 and 5 to cut the lead to 15 and it stayed that way until the 10th. Hiatt struck out in the 10th but it was too little, too late, as Kenny hung on for the final 216-211 victory. Champion’s Profile: Dennis Kenny is 48 years old and employed as a service writer for Victor Ford. He is married to Kimberly and has two sons, Jake and Luke, ages 9 and 13. Dennis has been bowling for 30 years and currently bowls league at 3 D Bowl. His high game is 300 and he has a high series of 802 to his credit. Dennis was using a Columbia Ricochet drilled by Ron Nelson. He thanked his wife and kids for their support, Neil Hulvey for coming, the ABT and Bertrand Lanes for having the event, and all the spectators who cheered for him.
