Beth Tollefson won her second Chicagoland ABT title by defeating Frank Kirchman 200-199 at AMF Rolling Meadows. Beth qualified 5th for the stepladder finals and started her climb to the top by defeating Len Wright 206-204. Next up was Jim Aller who fell by the score of 192-182. In match three Beth defeated Emmitt Johnson 232-188 to advance to the title match against top seed Frank Kirchman. The championship match all came down to the final frame. Beth finished up first and missed a 7-pin leaving the door open for Frank. Frank spared in the 10th and needed a strike on his fill ball to force a roll-off. Frank’s fill ball was flush in the pocket but a stubborn 10-pin refused to fall making Beth the winner 200-199. Champion’s Profile: Beth Tollefson is 34 years old and employed as a service advisor for Venus Ford. She has a 6-year-old son named Anthony and has only been bowling for a few years. Beth has a high game of 247 and a 640 high series to her credit. She was using a Columbia Reactive Scout drilled at the Pro Bowlers Shop in Milwaukee. Lots of hard work and practice have helped Beth to improve her game. Beth thanked the Lord for his help, Mike Switlick for his support, and the ABT and AMF Rolling Meadows for having the tournament. His winnings will be used for the ABT Las Vegas Nationals in March. CONGRATULATIONS BETH!Tournament Notes: This weeks’ raffle winner was Sheldon Mathis.
