Anthony Calarco won his eighth ABT title by going from 5th to 1st at AMF Rolling Meadows. Anthony started his climb to the top by defeating Devin Knabenbauer 189-186. In match two Anthony defeated Mike Martenson Sr. 225-222. In match three Anthony got by Rich Arens 197-183 to advance to the title match against top seed Tony Caraker. Caraker left rails in 2 of the first 3 frames while Calarco stayed clean to take a 16-pin lead. It stayed that way for the next 4 frames but Calarco strung a 5-bagger from the 8th frame on to pull away to the final victory 236-187. Champion’s Profile: Anthony Calarco is 62 years old and retired. He has two adult sons Frank and John and four grandchildren. Anthony has been bowling for 27 years and currently bowls at AMF Rolling Meadows. His high game is 300 and he has a 767 high series to his credit. Anthony was rolling a Columbia Bully drilled by Mike Dugan at Bowlers Aid Pro Shop in River Grove. He thanked God, his mother and Rich Manos for their support, and the ABT for running the best tournaments in Illinois. Anthony said that his goal is to be the first Chicagoland member to reach 10 titles. CONGRATULATIONS Anthony!Tournament Notes: This weeks’ raffle winner was Sheldon Mathis.
