Jimmy Tong worked his way past 4 opponents to win his first ABT title at Antioch Bowl. In match one Jimmy defeated Steve Newman 174-151. In match two Jimmy eliminated Kelly Thul 230-204. In match three Jimmy got by Becky Rakowski 227-200 to advance to the title match against top seed Becky Kaskadden. In the championship match Becky left rails in two of the first five frames that allowed Jimmy to overcome her handicap advantage and take a 6-pin lead after 5 frames. Two missed spares in the second half of the match spelled doom for Becky as Jimmy stayed clean and went on to win by the final score of 211-183. Champion’s Profile: Jimmy Tong is 29 years old and employed as a technician for Eaton Power Ware. He is married to Lulu and has 2 children, William and Leilani. Jimmy has been bowling for 5 years and bowls league at Brunswick Zone Fountain Square. He has a high game of 286 and a 696 high series to his credit. Jimmy was using a Storm Fear Factor drilled by Jim Erickson at Sunset Bowl. He credits Jim Erickson, Jason Luna, and Paul Luna Jr. as having helped him to improve his game. Jimmy thanked Antioch Bowl and the ABT for having the event, all the spectators for their support and his wife for letting him bowl. Jimmy said that his winnings would be used for the ABT Nationals in Las Vegas. CONGRATULATIONS Jimmy!Tournament Notes: This week’s raffle winner was Neil Hulvey. We were saddened this week to hear of the passing of Glen Hudson Sr. He was a great guy and will be missed by many. Our condolences go out to all of his friends and family.
