Rich Flood won his second ABT title with a 203-188 victory over Chris Cureton at Lakeside Lanes. Rich qualified 4th for the top 8 match play and advanced by defeating Dan Glowacki 227-177 and Boots Kass 256-201. Chris qualified 3rd and advanced by defeating Glenn Hudson Jr. 260-235 and Tony Kaskadden 212-192. In the title match Rich doubled in the 4th and 5th frames to take a 5-pin lead at the halfway mark. Chris then missed a 10-pin in the 7th frame while Rich stayed clean to up his margin to 17. Chris found the pocket in the last 3 frames but couldn’t carry a double to cut into the lead as Rich went on to win by the final score of 203-188. Champion’s Profile: Rich Flood is 37 years old and employed as an engineering manager for MPC Products. He is married to Kolette and has 2 children, Curtis and Ethan, ages 7 and 4. Rich started bowling in junior leagues and currently bowls at River Grove Bowl and Don Carter Lanes. His high game is 300 and he has a high series of 847 to his credit. Rich was using a Storm Reloaded and a Firestorm drilled by Joe Bacagaluppi at Back to Basics Pro Shop inside BAMM. Rich said that practice with John Kolodziej has helped him to improve his game. He thanked his son Curtis for bringing him good luck this week, Frank and Jennie Marack for their support, the ABT for running a good tournament and Lakeside Lanes for hosting the event.
