Tim Culp won his third ABT title by working his way past four opponents at AMF Valley Bowl. In match one Tim defeated Ken Stanek 207-158. In match two he eliminated Matt Sanchez 252-194. Match three was Tim’s toughest match as Chad Murphy struck out from the 8th frame to tie Tim at 252. In a two-frame roll-off Tim defeated Chad 41.6-32.6. The title match was decided early as Tim jumped out to a 27-pin lead after 3 frames against top seed Sam Gonzalez III and he never looked back as he cruised to the 201-145 victory. Champion’s Profile: Tim Culp is 45 years old and currently unemployed. He is married to Linda and has two children, Amanda and Tim, ages 24 and 20. Tim has been bowling for 15 years and currently bowls leagues at Brunswick Zone Woodridge and AMF Bolingbrook. His high game is 300 and he has an 802 high series to his credit. Tim was using a Columbia Bully drilled by Brian Spiller at Stars and Strikes Pro Shop inside AMF Bolingbrook Lanes. Tim thanked his family and the “AMF Bolingbrook cheerleaders” for their support. He also thanked the ABT and AMF Valley Bowl for having the event. Tim said his winnings would be used to pay bills. congratulations Tim!
