David Marienau won his first ABT title by defeating Mike Martenson Jr. 208-190 at Elgin Lanes. In match one of the stepladder finals Dan Glowacki defeated Ken Stanek 247-192. In match two Rudy Seidl defeated Dan Glowacki 231-167. In match three Mike Martenson Jr. defeated Rudy Seidl 198-185 to advance to the title match against top seed David Marienau. In the championship match Mike left a “big4” in the 3rd frame while David stayed clean to take a 7-pin lead after 3 frames. Mike missed a single pin spare in the 6th while David struck to up the lead to 17 pins. David doubled in the 8th and 9th frames to put the match away winning by the final score of 208-190. Champion’s Profile: David Marienau is 22 years old and employed in flood and fire restoration. He has been bowling for 14 years and bowls league at Brunswick Zone in Mt. Prospect. His high game is 300 and he has a 766 high series to his credit. David was using a Brunswick Power Groove drilled by Jeff Daggett at Strike Zone Pro Shop inside Brunswick Zone Mt. Prospect. He credits his parents with having taught him how to bowl. David thanked his friends for their support all weekend, the ABT staff, and Elgin Lanes for having the event. David said his winnings would be used for future events. CONGRATULATIONS David!Tournament Notes: Congratulations to David Marienau who won $500 by breaking a 295 Pot this week.
