Reggie Williams won his first ABT title by defeating Patrick Cockburn 232-190 at Lakewood Bowl. In match one of the stepladder finals Bob Minnick defeated Scott O’Neill 243-190. In match two Joe Jasinski defeated Bob Minnick 226-212. In match three Reggie Williams defeated Joe Jasinski 230-213 to advance to the championship match against top seed Patrick Cockburn. In the title match Reggie turkeyed in frames 2-4 to take a 24-pin lead. Patrick doubled in the 5th and 6th frames to cut into the lead but then left a 4-9 split in the 7th while Reggie doubled in the 6th and 7th to stretch his lead to 37. Patrick doubled again in the 8th and 9th but left another rail in the 10th while Reggie stayed clean to go on to win by the final score of 232-190. Champion’s Profile: Reggie Williams is “over 21” and employed as an IT manager. He is married to Annetta and has 2 children, Lexus and Jay, ages 9 and 17. Reggie has been bowling for 30 years and currently bowls league at Castaways. He has a high game of 279 and a 780 high series to his credit. Reggie was using a Storm Atomic Charge drilled at Kofids Pro Shop. He thanked his wife and sons for giving him special inspirations. Reggie also thanked the ABT for running a great tournament and Lakewood Bowl for hosting it.
