Vic Alexander worked his way past 4 opponents at Lakewood Bowl to capture his first ABT title. In match one Vic defeated Stephen Bennett Jr. 267-224. In match two Vic eliminated Stephen Hiatt 220-151. In match three Vic ousted Steven Lunsford 267-240 to earn his shot at top seed Russ Krueger. The lead changed hands several times in the title match with Russ holding a slight edge going into the final frame. Russ finished up first and counted 20 in the 10th frame forcing Vic to double in order to win. Vic was up to the challenge as he doubled then dropped 9 on his fill ball to pull out the win 219-211.

Champion’s Profile: Vic Alexander is 46 years old and employed as a network systems administrator. He is married to Regina and has two children, Victor II and Quintin. Vic has been bowling since 1991 and currently bowls leagues at Burr Oak and Skyway Lanes. He has a high game of 299 and a 799 high series to his credit. Vic was using a Morich Ravage drilled by Joe Herrell. He credits Tim Darling and Phil White as having helped him to improve his game. Vic thanked his wife for allowing him to bowl while she stayed home to cook Easter dinner. He also thanked the ABT for running an excellent tournament and said it’s always a pleasure to bowl ABT events.
