John F. Scaletta won his fifth ABT title by defeating Hank Duncan 289-221 at AMF Rolling Meadows. In match one of the stepladder finals Ed Seliga defeated Andrew Loose 283-211. In match two J. S. Scaletta defeated Ed Seliga 262-211. Match three was a father and son duel with John F Scaletta narrowly defeating his son J. S. 205-203. In the title match John F Scaletta trailed top seed Hank Duncan by six pins after 3 frames. Hank left a rail in the 4th frame and it was off to the races for John as he rattled off an 8-bagger to pull away to the final 289-221 victory. Champion’s Profile: John F Scaletta is 55 years old and employed as a supervisor for National Bank of Commerce. He is married to Linda and has two children, Lisa and J. S. John has been bowling for 47 years and currently bowls in the ABT league at BAMM. His high game is 300 and he has a high series of 835. John was using a Track Slash drilled by Will Clark at the ER Pro Shop at River Rand Bowl. John credits his wife’s support and his son’s coaching as having helped him to improve his game. He thanked the ABT and AMF Rolling Meadows for having the tournament, his Granddaughter Allison, and all his supporters during the finals. John said his winnings would be used for more ABT events.
