Jim Peach won his first ABT title by defeating Davey Rosen 216-212 at Hawthorn Lanes. In match one of the stepladder finals Leroy Walker defeated Bill Utter 249-205. In match two Leroy Walker defeated John Sypniewski 273-219. In match three Davey Rosen defeated Leroy Walker 253-166 to advance to the title match against top seed Jim Peach. Jim doubled to start the championship match and opened up an 18-pin lead. Davey turkeyed in frames 3-5 to cut it down to 1 pin after 5 frames. Davey left a rail in frame 6 while Jim marked to go back up by 9 and he hung on from there to win by the final score of 216-212. Champion’s Profile: Jim Peach is 32 years old and employed as a service tech for I-Tech Automation. He has been bowling since junior leagues and currently bowls at Fair Haven Lanes. His high game is 300 and he has a high series of 826 to his credit. Jim was using a Storm Ultra Hot drilled by Jim Erickson at Sunset Bowl. Jim said that coaching from Jim Gochis, Jim Erickson, and Peg George has helped him to improve his game. He thanked the ABT and Hawthorn for a great tournament and Mike George for convincing him to bowl this week, and added "I owe the most thanks to my parents for their support over the years." Jim said his winnings would go towards bills and more ABT events. CONGRATULATIONS Jim!
