Steve Morrissey won his fifth ABT title by defeating Dave Palojarvi Jr. 181-161 at Classic Bowl. In match one of the stepladder finals Mike Martenson Sr. defeated Robert Makino 214-159. In match two Mike Martenson Sr. defeated Keith Kroll 250-196. In match three Dave Palojarvi Jr. defeated Mike Martenson Sr. 212-208 to advance to the title match against top seed Steve Morrissey. Both bowlers struggled in the championship match and a rail for Dave in the 10th frame was his final undoing as Steve won by the final score of 184-161. Champion’s Profile: Steve Morrissey is 48 years old and employed as a pressman at K&M Printing. He is married to Rose and has been bowling for 25 years. Steve currently bowls leagues at Deer Park and Woodview Lanes and has a high game of 300 to go along with a 788 high series. He was using a Brunswick Ultimate Inferno drilled by Joe Bacagaluppi at Back to Basics Pro Shop inside Woodview Lanes. Steve thanked his wife Rose for her support and the ABT and Classic Bowl for having the event. Steve said that the ABT is the best tournament club in the country and that his winnings would be used for the ABC Nationals in Baton Rouge.
