Scott Weiderman won his first ABT title by defeating James Reed 229-219 at Stardust Bowl. Michael Love opened the stepladder finals by defeating Carlos Perfecto 224-190. James Reed then defeated Michael Love 214-205 and Tony Gnutek 226-197 to advance to the championship match against top seed Scott Weiderman. James left a rail in the very first frame of the title match while Scott doubled to quickly open a 28-pin lead. James chipped away at the lead as the match progressed but could never quite catch up, as Scott stayed clean to come away with the 229-219 victory. Champion’s Profile: Scott Weiderman is 20 years old and employed by Target. He has been bowling since junior leagues and currently bowls at Brunswick Zone Glendale Heights. Scott has a high game of 280 and a 680 high series to his credit. He was using an Ebonite V-2 drilled by Lynn Corey at Star Pro Shop in Addison. He thanked them all for their help, his dad and Tim Culp for their support, the ABT and Stardust for having the event and James Reed for his sportsmanship in the title match. Scott said his winnings would be used for a new car. CONGRATULATIONS Scott!Tournament Notes: This weeks raffle winner was Scott Weiderman.
