LeRoy Williams won his first ABT title by defeating Greg Gates 218-174 at Lakewood Bowl. In match one of the stepladder finals Eric Taylor defeated Tony Brantley 50.6-42.8 in a 2-frame roll-off after they tied at 199. In match two Eric Taylor defeated Robin White 207-180. In match three Greg Gates defeated Eric Taylor 210-178 to advance to the championship match against top seed LeRoy Williams. LeRoy started the title match with a turkey to take a 9-pin lead after 3 frames. Greg kept the match close for the next few frames but LeRoy turkeyed again in frames 7-9 to put the match away by the final score of 218-174. Champion’s Profile: LeRoy Williams is 27 years old and employed as an accountant. He is engaged to Myeasha and has 2 children, Shamya and Shalik ages 9 and 7. LeRoy has been bowling for 3 years and bowls league at Brunswick Zone Homewood. He has a 250 high game and a 701 high series to his credit. LeRoy was using a Lane 1 Cherry Bomb drilled by Tim Butterfield at Lakewood Bowl. He thanked the ABT and Lakewood Bowl for having the tournament.
