Tom Stahl won his 4th ABT title by defeating J. S. Scaletta 211-204 at Brunswick Zone Deer Park. Tom qualified 5th for the top 12 finals then advanced by defeating Gordon Brown 231-217, Frank Bartalone 217-183, and Bill Choporis 217-202. J. S. Scaletta qualified 3rd and he advanced by defeating John F. Scaletta 192-168, Don Dahm 214-196, and Mike Donnelly 224-178. In the title match J. S. Scaletta built a 27 pin lead after 4 frames but Tom Stahl turkeyed in frames 5-7 to take the lead and he held it the rest of the way winning by the final score of 211-204. Champion’s Profile: Thomas Stahl is 32 years old and married to Debra. He is employed as a dealer at the Grand Victoria Casino and also owns and operates Tommy’s Pro Shop inside Elmar Bowl. Tom has been bowling for 12 years and bowls league at Elmar Bowl. His high game is 300 and he has a high series of 830 to his credit. Tom was using a Shock and Awe and a Total Annihilation that he drilled himself. He credits Rich Kanadet and John Jowdy as having helped him to improve his game. Tom thanked the ABT and Brunswick Zone Deer Park and said his winnings would be used for the Hi Roller tournament next January.
