Joe Gorro won his first ABT title by defeating Scott Schinler 245-216 at Eskape Entertainment Center. In match one of the finals Ray Bartman defeated Sandra Dekoj 202-181. In match two Scott Schinler defeated Ray Bartman 236-184. In match three Scott Schinler defeated Richard Mirocha 203-198. In the title match Scott Schinler strung a 4-bagger in frames 2-5 but it wasn’t enough as Joe answered with a turkey in frames 5-7 and went on to win by the final score of 245-216. Champion’s Profile: Joe Gorro is 44 years old and self-employed as a painting contractor. He is married to Holly and has a 14-year-old daughter named Anna Marie. Joe has been bowling left handed for 3 years after switching from righty due to an injury. He has a high game of 237 and a 585 high series to his credit. Joe was using a Columbia Fear drilled by Brad Snell at New Approach Pro Shop. Joe said the entire Rakowski clan, his fellow bowlers at Arlington Lanes, and lessons from Brad Snell have all helped him to improve his game. He thanked all the people who believed he could bowl lefty and his family for their support. He also thanked the ABT and Eskape for having the tournament. Joe said his winnings would be used for kitchen remodeling and family fun. CONGRATULATIONS Joe!
