***Morris Earns Black Shirt at Bolingbrook***

Scott Morris earned his “black shirt” by winning his second ABT title with a 237-228 victory over Brandon Wirtz at AMF Bolingbrook.

Sam Gonzalez III opened the stepladder finals by defeating Jeff Stamper 234-177. Jeremy Mayoral then defeated Sam Gonzalez III 276-225. In match three Scott Morris defeated Jeremy Mayoral 251-192 to earn his shot at top seed Brandon Wirtz. In the title match Scott turkeyed in frames 2-4 to take a 22-pin lead. Brandon doubled in the 6th and 7th frames to cut the lead to 10 but Scott turkeyed again in frames 7-9 to lock up the match by the final score of 237-228.

Champion’s Profile: Scott Morris is 34 years old and employed as a driver for Oberweiss Dairy. He is married to Lisa and has been bowling for 20 years. Scott currently bowls league at Broadview Bowl and has a high game of 299 to go along with a 742 high series. He was using a Brunswick Smoking Inferno drilled by Joe Bacagaluppi at Back to Basics Pro Shop. Scott said that Steve Koszola has helped him to improve his game. He thanked Steve along with the ABT, AMF Bolingbrook and all the spectators who cheered him on during the finals. Scott said his winnings would go toward some new furniture.
