Christopher Furman won his first ABT title by defeating Dennis Robertson 182-168 at Woodview Lanes.

In match one of the stepladder finals Al Gery defeated Lloyd Laufer 225-197. In match two Dennis Robertson defeated Al Gery 200-192. In match three Dennis Robertson defeated Betsy Ewers 217-200 to advance to the championship match against top seed Christopher Furman. The title match was close for the first 6 frames with Christopher holding a 7-pin lead at that point. Dennis then opened in the next 3 frames giving Christopher all the room he would need as he went on to win by the final score of 182-168.

Champion’s Profile: Christopher Furman is 38 years old and employed as a senior chemist for Fisher Bio Sciences. He is married to Barbara and has been bowling for 10 years. Christopher currently bowls league at Eskape Entertainment Center and has a high game of 221 and a 640 high series to his credit. He credits Anthony Furman as having helped him with his game. Christopher thanked his wife and parents for their support, the ABT and Woodview Lanes for having the event, and all the spectators who stayed to watch the finals. His winnings will be used for bills and vacation. Christopher said that his win just goes to prove that anyone can win in the ABT.
