Joe Banse won his first ABT title in our Combination Singles Event at AMF Valley Bowl. Joe qualified 4th for the stepladder finals and started his climb to the top by defeating Al Legan 256-246. In match two Joe eliminated Brenda White 257-242. Jason Bill was Joe’s next opponent and he fell by the score of 214-198 setting up the championship match between Joe and top seed Jerry Lawrence Jr. The title match was close with Joe clinging to a 1-pin lead entering the final 2 frames. Joe finished up first and struck out in the 9th and 10th frames to lock out Jerry Lawrence Jr. and win by the final score of 233-200. Champion’s Profile: Joseph Banse is 30 years old and employed as a carpet installer. He has been bowling for 6 years and bowls league at AMF Valley Bowl. Joe has a high game of 264 and a 620 high series to his credit. He was using a Brunswick Viz a Ball to win his title this week. Joe credits Nick Misner and Sam Gonzalez as having helped him with his game. He thanked the ABT and Valley Bowl for having the event and the spectators who cheered him on through the finals. Joe said his winnings would go into a savings account and that this was the first time he has ever made it to the finals of a tournament. congratulations Joe!
