James Reed won his second ABT title by defeating Wayne Crumpton 198-159 at Comet Lanes. Steve Moore opened the stepladder finals by defeating Harvey Vail Jr. 218-171. In match two Frank Marack Jr. defeated Steve Moore 211-190. In match three James Reed defeated Frank Marack Jr. 209-184 to advance to the title match against top seed Wayne Crumpton. In the title match Wayne left splits in 2 of the first 4 frames while James stayed clean to build a 32-pin lead and he cruised from there to the final198-159 victory. Champion’s Profile: James Reed is 71 years young and retired. He is married to Rose and they have two children, Gwen and Andre. James has been bowling for 31 years and currently bowls leagues at Halsted and Burr Oak Bowl. His high game is 300 and he has a 778 high series to his credit. James was using a Brunswick Ultimate Inferno drilled by Joe Harrill at Skyway Bowl. James thanked his wife for allowing him to bowl every week, his opponent Wayne for being a good sport and all the spectators who cheered him on during the finals. His winnings will be used for the U.S.B.C. Nationals. congratulations James!
