Paul Johnson earned his “black shirt” by winning his second ABT title in our Combination Singles event at Riverfront Lanes. Steven Green opened the stepladder finals by defeating Thomas Page 277-183. In match two Paul Johnson defeated Steven Green 236-204. In match three Paul Johnson defeated William Whitaker 265-235 to earn his shot at top seed Ben Vander Veer. The championship match was a hard fought affair that came down to the final frame where Paul doubled to lock up the victory by the final score of 278-261. Champion’s Profile: Paul Johnson is 49 years old and employed as a comptroller. He has 2 children, Cosima and Paula, ages 20 and 17. Paul has been bowling for the past 5 years and currently bowls league at Brunswick Arena. He has a high game of 290 and a 734 high series to his credit. Paul was using a Columbia Chaos drilled by Tom Barragan. He thanked the ABT and Riverfront Lanes for having the event and all the spectators who cheered him on during the finals. Paul said his winnings would go towards some new equipment and savings. He also said that the ABT is a great, professionally run tournament. congratulations Paul!
