David West won his first ABT title by defeating Jim Cradduck 213-208 at Wheaton Bowl. Vince Miguel opened the stepladder finals by defeating Tony Godek Jr. 218-200. Vince then defeated Jesus Ramirez 205-198 before falling to Jim Cradduck 181-168. The lead changed hands several times in the title match but a missed 10-pin in the 7th frame was Jim’s downfall as David doubled in the 8th and 9th frames to take the lead for good going on to win by the final score of 213-208. Champion’s Profile: David West is 45 years old and employed as a manufacturing manager. He has two daughters, Stephanie and Heather, ages 20 and 23. David has been bowling for 11 years and currently bowls league at Brunswick Zone Deer Park. He has a high game of 290 and a 737 high series to his credit. David was using a Maximum Velocity drilled by Mark London at Brunswick Deer Park. He credits George Endahl and Herman Mathus as having helped him to improve his game. David thanked his girlfriend Colby for her patience with his bowling. He also thanked the ABT and Wheaton Bowl. David said his winnings would be used for home repairs.
