James Kenny won his first ABT title by defeating Becky Kaskadden 184-182 at Stardust Bowl.

In match one of the stepladder finals Maurice Schmidt defeated Joseph Flores 190-164. In match two Joselito Gamboa defeated Maurice Schmidt 212-171. In match three James Kenny defeated Joselito Gamboa 225-169 to advance to the championship match against top seed Becky Kaskadden. The lead changed hands several times in the title match and going into the final frame James had the lead by just 2 pins. With a chance to win in the 10th Becky chopped the 1-3-9 combination and James held on to win by the final score of 184-182.

Champion’s Profile: James Kenny is 55 years old and employed as a salesman for All American Commercial Roofing. He is married to Gail and they have 3 grown children, Colleen, Laura, and Janice. James has been bowling for 40 years and currently bowls ABT only. He has a high game of 279 and a 702 high series to his credit. James was using a Columbia Richochet drilled by Ron Nelson. He credits Dennis Kenny as having helped him to improve his game. James thanked his wife Gail and Neil Hulvey for their support along with the ABT and Stardust Bowl for having the tournament. He said his winnings would be used for gifts for the grandkids.
