*** Chapman Wins at Arlington***

Randy Chapman won his third ABT title by defeating Katha Phadongpun 184-158 in a one game roll-off after they tied at 235 in their first match.

Ray Kindernay opened the stepladder finals by defeating Terrance Leonard 217-197. In game two James Tagalos defeated Ray Kindernay 198-180. In game three Katha Phadongpun defeated James Tagalos 268-190 to advance to the title match against top seed Randy Chapman. It looked as though Randy would win in regulation holding a 30-pin after 7 frames but Kat struck out in the last 3 frames to tie Randy at 235 and force the one game roll-off. Kat just ran out of gas at that point and Randy was able to win easily by the final score of 184-158.

Champion’s Profile: Randy Chapman is 52 years old and employed as a trouble shooter for Com Ed. He is married to Ginnee and has three children, Linda, April and Jessica. Randy has been bowling “forever” and currently bowls leagues at Woodview Lanes and Wheaton Bowl. His high game is 300 and he has a 760 high series to his credit. Randy was using a Track Delta 1 drilled by Lynn Corey at Starr Pro Shop in Addison. Randy credits Lynn Corey as having helped him to improve his game. He thanked his wife Ginnee for her support and all of the ABT staff and volunteers for doing a great job running tournaments every week. Randy said his winnings would be used for the USBC Nationals.

CONGRATULATIONS Randy!
