Scott O’Neill won his second ABT title by defeating Joe Gorro 249-189 at Eskape Entertainment Center. Warren Peters opened the stepladder finals by defeating Paul Johnson 224-195. Wayne Malec then defeated Warren Peters 215-195 before falling to Scott O’Neill 257-219. In the title match Joe Gorro held a slim 3-pin lead after 5 frames but Scott doubled in the 5th and 6th then strung a 5-bagger in frames 8-10 to pull away to the 249-189 victory. Champion’s Profile: Scott O’Neill is 38 years old and employed as a fleet service clerk for American Airlines. He is married to Dawn and they have a 7-year-old daughter Hailley. Scott has been bowling since youth leagues and currently bowls leagues at Stardust Bowl and Eden Lanes. His high game is 300 and he has a 764 high series to his credit. He was using an Ebonite One drilled by Joe Bacagaluppi at Back to Basics Pro Shop inside Woodview Lanes. Scott thanked his wife for letting him bowl, his parents, the Scalettas, the Ebels, Melodie Kipta and the ABT gang for all of their support and the ABT staff and Eskape for having the tournament. Scott said his winnings would be used for his daughter’s birthday and some new equipment. He also said he was really glad to get his singles victory before Ed and Lorraine left because it was something he really wanted to do. CONGRATULATIONS Scott!
