Wally Brandt won his second ABT title by defeating Chet Pyzik 226-173 at Brunswick Zone River Grove. In match one of the stepladder finals Ed Mathisen defeated Jennie Marack 212-206. In match two Tony Sokolowski defeated Ed Mathisen 227-219. In match three Chet Pyzik defeated Tony Sokolowski 185-177 to advance to the title match against top seed Wally Brandt. Wally doubled to start the championship match but Chet stayed close for the first 6 frames. The second half of the match belonged to Wally as he closed with a 4-bagger to pull away to the 226-173 final score. Champion’s Profile: Wally Brandt is 56 years old and employed as a production foreman. He is engaged to Louanne and has 4 grown children. Wally has been bowling for 20 years and currently bowls league at Hoffman Lanes and Lombard Lanes. His high game is 299 and he has a 781 high series to his credit. He was using an Ebonite One drilled by Brad Snell and said that lessons from Brad have helped him to improve his game. Wally thanked his fiancée Louanne for all her support. He said his winnings would be used for his son’s wedding and that the ABT is a wonderful organization. CONGRATULATIONS Wally!
