Rich Ebel Jr. won his second Chicagoland ABT title by defeating Dan Kida 230-183 at Joliet Town & Country Lanes. In match one of the stepladder finals Paul Johnson defeated Jursalle Hairston 233-194. In match two Paul Johnson defeated John Burica 189-144. In match three Rich Ebel Jr. defeated Paul Johnson 243-218 to advance to the championship match against top seed Dan Kida. The title match was close for the first 5 frames but Rich turkeyed in frames 6-8 to build a commanding lead as he went on to win by the final score of 230-183. Champion’s Profile: Rich Ebel Jr. is 56 years old and employed as a builder. He is married to Evelyn and they have two grown daughters, Karen and Kathy. Rich has been bowling for 32 years and currently bowls league at Spectrum Lanes in Grand Rapids Michigan. His high game is 300 and he has a 765 high series to his credit. Rich was using a Hammer Power Diesel drilled by Bob DeGrath at JRS Drill Center. He thanked his wife and the “O’Neill rooting section” for their support and the ABT and Town & Country Lanes for having the event. Rich said his winnings would be used for the Chicagoland Open. congratulations Norman!
