John Wilson won his first ABT title by defeating Dominic Pelc 220-206 at Joliet Town & Country Lanes. Ray Fairfield Jr. opened the stepladder finals by defeating Stan Culp 212-184. Henry Krolikowski then defeated Ray Fairfield Jr. 220-216 before falling to Dominic Pelc 282-209. Dominic Pelc doubled to start the title match and take a 5-pin lead over top seed John Wilson. John then turkeyed in frames 3-5 to go up by 14 and the match stayed that way the rest of the way with John winning by the final score of 220-206. Champion’s Profile: John Wilson is 57 years old and employed as a home rehabber. He is married to Patsy and they have a 24-year-old daughter, Julie, and 32-year-old twins Omar and Dupre. John has been bowling for 30+ years and currently bowls league at Bluebird Lanes. His high game is 300 and he has a 755 high series to his credit. John said that reading a lot of books, especially by Earl Anthony, has helped him to improve his game. He thanked his wife for letting him bowl this week and the ABT staff and Town & Country Lanes for having the tournament. John said his winnings would be used for a special Mothers Day gift. congratulations Norman!
