Eugene Clark won his first ABT title by defeating Steven Green 190-187 at Echo Lanes. In match one of the stepladder finals Scott O’Neill defeated Cantrell Brooks 185-164. In match two Eugene Clark defeated Scott O’Neill 218-203. In match three Eugene Clark defeated Greg Gates 193-177 to advance to the title match against top seed Steven Green. The championship match was a nail-biter that came down to the final ball. Steven needed a strike on his fill ball in the 10th for a tie that would have forced a roll-off but his shot went high and dropped seven making Eugene the winner by the final score of 190-187. Champion’s Profile: Eugene Clark is 43 years old and employed as a teacher for the Chicago Board of Education. He is married to Gayle and they have a 9-year old daughter named Kayla and a baby on the way. Gene has been bowling for 20 years and currently bowls league at Tinley Bowl. He has a high game of 279 and a 710 high series to his credit. Gene was using a Storm Barb Wire drilled at Tinley Bowl. He thanked Mark Kisala for his support and the ABT for having the tournament.
